I am new to this forum and have decided after much research to get a collection going. I used to collect when I was younger and it seemed so much more simpler, I never sent anything but a letter and get many replies..anyhow, here is my question:
I know I have to send and LOR, the IRC..SAE but is it absolutely necessary to send a picture? I dont have a printer at home and I dont think any photo lab will print a picture if there is a copyright on it..am I wrong? I would like to send out some requests today..so any help would be appreciated , thanks

you dont HAVE to send a picture, but if the celebrity is VV or doesn't have their own, then it is convenient for them if you do send one. it might make the chance of you getting something back greater.

I appreciate your help, if I dont send a pic, are index cards a good idea? I can then ask for a photo too right? I am just trying to figure what is best because of my lack of a printer..

can anyone from Canada answer this? do you generally send IRCs to the US or do you get american postage?

well im not from canada but you can send index cards , dollars etc etc and also ask for an autographed picture

I actually was able to print off some photos at my local Walgreens. I prefer printing my own photos because I like picking them out myself.

i use index cards all the time. most will sign them.

You could send index cards and then add that you would love a photo if they have them, but you'd be happy just getting your card signed. Most will send one.

I have found that many photo kiosks will print photos if you take them in on flash drive/card, despite there being copyright issues. Often they just dont look. If you do find a place refuses, try another!

Does Snapfish send to Canada? I recommend them. They are always having sales and specials (seems that every week I get an offer for a free print of something), and I've never had a problem with copyrighted images.
