The Derrek Lee thing has been rumored for awhile now.. I wonder how much of an upgrade he is over Glaus though.

Mike Cameron is also now out for the rest of the reason. Amazing the Red Sox are still in the race given all those injuries and being in the same division as the Yanks and Rays.

Phillies took first place in the NL east from the Braves. Lukcily, the Braves are the NL Wild Card leaders!

I'm a Mets fan but I'm pretty much rooting for the Braves to take the division at this point.

Has anyone noticed how drastic Carlos Gonzalez's home/away splits are? Playing for the Rockies really does wonders for your hitting.

I kinda have.
The Phillies have a 6 game lead over the Braves, but hopefully the Braves will comeback at them.
If I'm correct, the only way they can tie for the division lead is win the last 6 games to tie it, or win 3 games while the Phillies lose 3. But if they can't, they'll just have to hold on to the wild card race against the Padres.

Carlos' home stats: .392 batting, 25 homers, .766 slugging
His away stats: .293 batting, 8 homers, .459 slugging
The difference in slugging is just insane. It's bigger than the difference between Albert Pujols and Juan Pierre.

The Phillies' magic number is 4. Basically, any combination of Phillies wins and Braves losses that total 4 means they take the division. The wild card looks like it could be a pretty tight race.

Well I guess there is a huge advantage to playing half of your games in Colorado, I wonder what type of year he would be having if he stayed in Oakland?
