I just got in two signed cards from Batton Lash. Writer on Archie books and a lot more. Signed the cards for myself and my son. The cards were from a Superstars of the Future card sets put out in the 90s. Got address from him via facebook. He's easy to find there.
Scifi, comic books and a few other areas are my interests in autograph collecting. If you want to talk feel free to pm me.

Samaritan from Astro City commission from Brent Anderson, only cost me 50 + 5 shipping. Full 12x9 pretty happy with how it came out. Definitely not bad getting original art of that size from the character co-creator for 55 bucks.

Very nice!

Goes to figure that I trek to the Sacramento convention and Ernie Chan is a no-show! I did get to meet Alex Nino, Chris Marinnan, and Mick Gray. Mr Gray is one of the nicest guys I have met at a convention. he was not to busy so I started a conversation with him and we ended up talking for almost an hour. His wife is very nice too, and it was great fun to listen to him talk about how making comic books is changing, the people whos work he has inked, and the industry in general. Really cool was that he inked Steve Ditkos last published comic work and he also did some of Jack Kirbys last stuff too. (said Kirby was the greatest man he ever met in the business).

If you want to check out his stuff or contact him see his website http://www.mickgray.net

Overall lots of fun and I scored some smoking deals.

Alex Nino signed the inside of my Conan comic. I asked if he could sign the cover too and he did, but was a little hesitant. His name is on the cover along with another artist, but he said it was a joint effort on the cover and he didn't do that much work on it so he sort of didn't want to sign it. He was very nice to talk with and is a very friendly person and told me why he only did two issues of Conan was that the editors said he "drew him too skinny, they wanted buff and huge." I think they were crazy.

Chris Marrinan was also nice. He lives close to me so we spoke about local stuff for a short bit. He had some killer color prints for only $5 so as I was flipping through them I spotted a b&w Batman head shot that I knew my Batman obbsesed son would like. He said, "Ooops, thats an original not a print. Ahh well, what the heck. $5 and I will sign it too." Not bad for aa fiver. He has done all kinds of comics and his Batman #642 is really awesome.

Greg Capullo signed my X-Force comic in a little over a month. He can be reached using Facebook. He is very nice and really seems to like to hear from his fans.

I have requests out to a number of artists and with the convention season winding down I hope to get more returns soon.

I've hit a dry spell. Seems like I only get stuff back when I have car problems.

"Oh damn! Blew a tire and had to get my car towed? Wonder what Fan Mail I'll get back today!?"
