Why is this so expensive?

I want Louis Sachar's autograph, and I was going to give it a try until I found this:

Why is it so expensive? Is it really worth that much? I didn't think his would be that hard to get, but I guess I'm wrong. This discourages me from trying.

the prices on that site are pretty much ridiculous, Bob Saget for $199, Dirk Benedict for $499 as examples

Id say go ahead and give him a try through the mail

That site ALWAYS has their items priced WAAAY to high. In the end though, it's all about quanity and demand, if there's only a few of these scattered abroad and lots of people want them, the sellers know the buyers will pay that price.

Don't let it discourage you from trying though!!

There is something wrong with that sites prices because if you punch in a canadian actress named Simone Bailly they have her autograph for $399.00 and she isn't a very well known actress and i sent a sase and they sent me the same picture signed for free so don't go by that site because there prices mean nothing they are so out of the lines of reality!

Wow. I'm glad everyone informed me then. I thought the site was a little off but I wasn't sure on everything. I went ahead and sent to him. I feel much better about it now.

This guy also sells on Ebay. The prices are just astronomical. He sells out of Las Vegas. Maybe someone there is paying his price.

I got this exact ball earlier in the year for free...he wants $1499.00
