Re: How do some people have so many autographs
I think for some people this hobby is actually an obsession. There is a fine line between habit and obsession. It amazes me how much money and time people choose to spend on this hobby. Especially in this day in age where most people are tightening their belts. Most of the collectors on this site will know the value of a dollar when they have a mortgage, car payments, insurance, food, and other expenses to take care of. When you add up all of these expenses, collecting autographs really doesn't seem like a necessary expense and is expendable. Even the richest people out there are tightening their belts and cutting off unnecessary expenses.

It's not that expensive as long as you don't get too obsessed, all hobbies cost money and this hobby is still cheap compared to my other hobby which is radio controlled airplanes and cars. People spend alot more on cigarettes than i spend on my hobbies but i don't consider autograph collecting a habit it's a hobby and only becomes habit if you become obsessive if that made sence. I think anyone with an obsessive personality should not start TTM autograph collecting, lol The only thing i don't like about this hobby compared to other hobbies is with other hobbies you know what you are getting with your money and with this hobby you send off and wish for the best and more than half the requests you send out don't amount to anything in return so it's a gamble really which i guess is part of the excitement of it !!!khackdrums wrote:I think for some people this hobby is actually an obsession.
