What Charity can I help?

Unread post by MW1221 »

Any ideas of what charity I can help? I was thinking about the Make A Wish Foundation but I wasn't sure. Any other ideas?

Hi MW1221 {up}

Thanks for your post. It is such an important question{up}

The Make A Wish Foundation would be a great charity. I am so glad you mentioned that one, as it was one I was asked to collect for later this year in the UK !!!!! :lol: ( http://www.make-a-wish.org.uk ). You would obviously be collecting for the USA branch :wink: ( http://www.wish.org/ ).

This is a fantastic charity, but I might be a bit biassed as I only support child-charities in my collections. It might sound a bit harsh, and I know there are loads of other very worthy charities to collect for, but in order to keep some kind of control I have to limit the type of charities I can help around my tv work, and I have always chosen those who support children.

A major consideration me is that I lost my youngest brother at the age of 11 back in 1999 and I chose soon after I would like to collect to help youngsters. :| I currently support Children With Leukaemia http://www.leukaemia.org, NSPCC http://www.nspcc.org.uk and the UK Scout Association http://www.scouts.org.uk

A great website for you to check out though would be: http://www.childrenscharities.org/ which lists many many child-friendly charities in the USA, and I hope this will be of help to you!

Thanks again for your post :D

Hey MW1221

first of all well done on choosing to help out a charity through autograph collecting!

to answer your question, i would choose a charity that is close to you. im fundraising for cancer research uk at the moment, because cancer is something that is extremely close to me for a number of reasons and i want to make a difference to all those out there who are suffering as a result of it.

best
Robin

I totally agree with Robin on this one {up}

Choose a charity which means something to you. It will give you the extra motivation to work hard for your charity, and it can be hard work!

Unfortunately though, my brother did not die from a disease, so I am not able to remember him in that way.

But, I have lost several other family members through cancer. All my grandparents and most recently my father-in-law at the end of November 2004.
Cancer Research is a fantastic cause Robin. {up}
