I was wondering how you know an autographed item is authentic when sent through the mail. Is there a COA with it? First time here, please help.....

No,they do not. Most people just compare with known in person examples of the autograph.

There are no guarantees that the signature you receive ttm is authentic. Unless you see it signed you can only say that a ttm is "thought to be authentic". Many celebs who were thought to be sending out authentcs have actually been proven to be sending out secretarial signatures. Research the signing habits of the particular celeb you want to send to by checking others feedback using the search function above. Eastwood, De Niro, Pacino, Travolta, Liz Taylor, and many more send out secretarials. A helpful site to determine authenticity on a limited number of high profile celebs is at www.isitreal.com

good luck!

Haha pachino sends out the biggest secs I have ever seen. In saying that, the above is a very pessimistic viewpoint.if you can ''prove'' secs, then you can ''prove'' authentics, know what I mean? Jordin sparks is one such example where it is so obviously authentic there is no need to say ''thought to be''.get what i'm saying?

Arrowsup is right. Unless I see an item signed in person I can never be 100% positive it is authentic. "Thought to be" is about as accurate as one can get. It's the right attitude too.

As for COAs, they rarely included, but only if you pay the for the autograph. Most of the time they are worthless documents anyway. Anyone can whip up a COA. I always ignore them.

No offense, but that is bs. Global authentication is one of the top brands, and you get the hologram along with the matching card. You can't just "print it off". You don't know what you're talking about. And the other guy who posted earlier doesn't either.... An item with a legit COA is much better than one that doesn't have one......

You didnt read what we said at all. We are referring to the black market on ebay, not official outlets, for example, cricket australia. When I first joined here,i bought an item with a coa and guess what... IT WAS A FAKE.What is to stop someone buying an authentic auto with an authentic c.o.a,and simply forging another item to match the certificate??

You know what you were talking about Jaffer. Explain where in your posts it says that you were talking about the black market ebay. Show it, and I'll give you an apology. But I don't see it here. So...point it out.
