Gerald R. Ford - Autopen?

Unread post by Chris102 »

Would someone be able to tell me whether this Gerald R. Ford signed photo is authentic or an autopen? Thanks!

It's an autopen. The sig. has the same pressure and thickness thru the entire autograph. You can also see where the pen left a dot where it stopped at the end of the letters d,r,f,d also the period after the middle initial R is perfect where the pen went straight down and straight back up. I even took it a step further I took the sig. changed the background color so the sig. would stand out,, sharpened it and magnified it 800x because I was curious how the G was made since I seen no start or stop characteristics in that letter. The pen actually went straight down into the loop of the G. so you couldnt see it.

Hi CDolan02

[agree] with harrylare. That is definite Autopen. Anyone's signature should have trail marks at the end of a signature, whereas the attached signature is simply starting and stopping.

Many past (and present) Presidents sign using Autopen.
