Copyright issues.
After hearing that supermarkets can make you quality prints that are ideal to send to celebrities, I ordered about 20 prints of various Football (Soccer) players, and waited the time, and travelled to the Tescos.
They bluntly said, "I'm sorry, we weren't able to process your order, due to copyright infringements."
I said, I'm getting them signed, and then using them for personal use? Still they said no.
I even said that I'd take responsibility, they then said, we'd still have to come to court and get engaged if it went that far.
I had more arguments, but this guy was a jobs worth, and I knew I wouldn't win.
I then tried ASDA, EXACTLY THE SAME THING, but this time they gave me a long lecture about a guy, who I guess was a theoretical character, and how he was sued for thousands of pounds.
I went to sainsburys, guess what? Same thing.
I was wondering what place could do it for me?
I've wasted allot of time, and effort over these, but are essential to carry on my hobby.

Re: Copyright issues.
I recommend that you order your photos online in the future, snapfish.com is great for 6x4s and if you want 12x8 photos i recommend you visit aldi photos website.
Re: Copyright issues.
No way, just saw that 'snapfish' will let us have 30 photos free, don't know if there's a catch, but seems very encouraging, thanks!

Well, quite frankly, you are infringing on a someone's work.
Any business that prints it for you with the knowledge of that is risking litigation.

I don't know how you can say that with a straight face.KennethECoker wrote:Well, quite frankly, you are infringing on a someone's work.

To the op, I feel for you mate. I have had the exact same problem with trying to get my photos printed on official websites of these stores. It is a sad enditement on our arcane ,out-of-date and out-of-touch legal system that this rubbish still exists. Do these imbeciles not realise you could just get a mate to print it at home? I have similar problems with music...
My only tip would be to use a ''neutral'' site so to speak, such as the aforementioned snapfish,or to buy a brilliant printer.

Then, invest in a printer that is of the quality to do the job and print at home. That's the advice I have for you.Jaffer wrote:I don't know how you can say that with a straight face.KennethECoker wrote:Well, quite frankly, you are infringing on a someone's work.

That way, the third-party stores don't have to risk their backsides in a lawsuit - and they do happen, folks.
Re: Copyright issues.
Printers are quite expensive, and with the cut of the UK's EMA, It looks doubtful I'll ever get one, unless I get out the house and into the newsagents for a paper round!
Yeah, I don't 'like' disobeying copyright, but other then this method, I can't contact some lesser known celebrities I like the most.
And when you DO find a quality photo of a celebrity in a shop, they charge you a FORTUNE!
As for music, people have been avoiding buying it for years; recoding from the radio with your tape recorder, Burning with a CD and now music download sites.
Anyway, ordered 20 pictures off SnapFish, for 99p! (Postage, you get 20 free for signing up)
I'm just expecting some sort of message from them saying about copyright, as it's what I've come to expect I'm afraid
But if all goes well, snapfish will be getting my custom allot over the years.
Thanks for the responses!
Let's hope my pictures will actually get signed

Re: Copyright issues.
While it is illegal, a lot of photo printing sites (like Snapfish, as mentioned) will turn a blind eye to it. Some sites are even automated to the point where no one really checks your photos.
Re: Copyright issues.
Near where I live there is a Kodak photo shop were you can get photos printed and they have these machines where you can plug a USB device in and print photos from there. I have used these machines loads of times for printing photos and the man behind the counter has never once said I couldn't print them due to copyright. I guess it just depends where you get your photos done.
I would recomend finding out if there is a Kodak shop near you that have Kodak express machines and going there as they allow you to make great quality prints at a good price.
