How do they do it?

Unread post by smith_and_pyle »

I was just wondering how autograph hounds get their information on what hotels celebrities are staying at? I'm going to a concert with a pretty big celeb and I was thinking if someone could help me with some information I'll pick up an autograph or 2 for you. Thanks!

By getting to know the folks you 'graph with. It can take time for them to warm up to you, or maybe one or two folks might be friendly right away. Go to the venue regularly and just mind your own business while getting your graphs. If you go there all the time, you'll notice the same folks returning there over and over again. Pay attention to who seems friendly and who doesn't. Eventually you'll (hopefully) get accepted as part of the "gang" and will be able to strike up a few conversations.

Also, it depends on who is setting them up at the hotel. If it's the venue, you can eventually find out where they usually set them up. But in any event, most of the time they will want to stay somewhere close to the venue. It takes time to gain trust and get information. Just about all your information will come locally.
