Here's SI's list of the 50 top free agents,
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2010/w ... itter_feed

A lot of low-risk, high-reward types as I previously mentioned.. but you know the market's bad when Melky Cabrera made the list. I find it a bit strange some teams seem to be high on Werth's power because he isn't much of a power hitter once he leaves Citizen's Bank.

I missed this a few days ago, but a pretty strange transaction occurred - the Blue Jays traded for Miguel Olivo, then declined his option and let him go to free agency just a few hours later. They get a draft pick for losing Olivo though, which might have been the goal all along.

It has been reported, but not yet confirmed, that the Pirates have hired Clint Hurdle as their new manager. Not sure what to make of this. Maybe I'll get to meet him at the Piratefest, assuming I'll go.

Cliff Lee has been seen by the yankees, but theres 1 problem, his wife doesnt like NY, so that could be a problem for the Yankees. But cashman has a way to solve it, lots and lots of green.

Not quite MLB, but HOFer Ryne Sandberg has been signed to manage the Phillies AAA team, the Lehigh Valley IronPigs. They'll be coming through my neck of the woods next year a few times. Also former MLB Phil Nevin has moved up from managing the Tigers AA team to the AAA Toledo Mud Hens.

I don't blame her. I wouldn't like it there if fans poured beer on me either. So far, Lee has made $23 million so I really wonder if "lots and lots of green" will get the job done. I think he primarily wants to play for a solid WS contender. I'm actually thinking he just might re-sign with Texas. But that's just a hunch, and nothing more.

Marlins just traded Uggla to the Braves for Infante and a relief pitcher. A real steal for the Braves IMO.

Never heard of him, but even if he turns out to be a top-tier closer, the trade still favors the Braves. They essentially traded a utility player and a RP for a consistent and durable power hitter who plays 2B.
