Re: Mickey Rourke on e Bay?
Its fairly consistent with the ones I got just 2 months ago.

That being said, his autograph is so brutal, that anyone with 1 functioning finger could eek out something very close, or exactly like, his signature... so I started looking at his other items for sale.
Although I think SOME of his items are real, I dont think they all are.
He has a Jared Padalecki autograph on a duo signed Supernatural photo thats not even remotely close to anything I have gotten...yet the Jensen Ackles on the same photo looks legit?
He has a Bryan Adams autograph that is unquestionably fake, since I havent even seen his autograph that nice & legible on items signed back in the 80s. let alone nowadays.
The guy has a dozen plus Robert Pattinsons up, all of them are what I call his "brutal" signature. As someone thats gotten over 20 autographs from him & seen another 50-100 more in person, I can tell you, these are more the exception than the rule for his signing habits....either this guy has the worst luck in getting him to sign, or they have to be fake....luckily, they are so bad, and Robert has a history of signing that bad, who can ever dispute it??
Then all of a sudden he has 1 "nice" Pattinson

again, as someone thats gotten as many as I have gotten & seen even more, I can tell you, that isnt even close to real. His autograph is more straight up & down & spread out when he does do a nice one, this is more angled to the right & condensed.
I looked thru all of his pages, looked at about 50+ items. There are certainly some real items there. Some tough to forge people, like Samuel L Jackson and Leslie Nielsen & such that I am sure are real...but then theres the Padalecki Adams and Pattinsons of the bunch that make me doubt them.
it also didnt help figuring how legit they are when he takes a photo of the item, instead of a scan, then tags it (for whatever reason...does he really think someone is going to "steal" the scan to do pre-prints?) which made it difficult to be sure in some cases.
Heres the thing with Rourke. His autograph is terrible. Any forger can do them & make them look plausable...so really, whether these are real or fake, you likely will never know. I doubt Mickey himself could tell you the difference. he is also not a rare autograph. I think you could find someone with one out there from a dealer who has less questions over their head about authenticy.

Thanks! Confirmed all my concerns about this item. And I don't want to buy something unless I know for SURE that its Mickey's scribble :-)
Pity its such an easy one to copy.

Re: Mickey Rourke on e Bay?
I really cant comment on these, because they are TOO nice.
They are either undeniably fake, or are signed thru some sit down signing.
If they are from a sitdown signing, it could explain the exceptionally nice signatures handed out.
I never saw Mickey hand out anything even 1/4 that nice when I got him.
But that was in person in a rushed environment with 100s of people trying to get him.
I checked out the 4 or 5 people that I know that this guy has.
Most of them look real. But the Rourkes & Tobey Maguires look TOO nice for what I have seen.
That being said, I get the impression these guys are doing some type of sit down signings with people...which is why their autographs look so off from an in person on the street version.
Without knowing how they are getting these, I cant be certain. They COULD be real from a sit down signing of some type.
maybe someone thats seen a nice Rourke will chime in. I dont have enough experience with him to know if he USED to sign nicer.
As for mine, yes. But seeing these items, I am not sure why you would, if these turn out to be legit. They are pretty nice pieces.
I suggest asking them a couple questions, if they seem to check out. Go for it. Its MUCh nicer than anything you'll get from an in person experience.

Well its tough being in South Africa and trying to get my grubby paws on something like this. How can I EVER be sure?
At least I'd KNOW yours are real, right?
This is something I really want
Taking the exchange rate into account, as well as the postage costs, its not something I wanna get wrong!

Re: Mickey Rourke on e Bay?
funny, a user with 0 posts on this board sent me a pretty unhappy letter thru this site about my post on the OPs link.
Seems the dealer in question lurks this site under the psuedonym "Mothball" for no other reason than to see what people say about him.
Yet, doesnt have the mothBALLS to say it publicly.
I know your lurking here..... so, come here to whine & moan about my statement...not in private.... Or were you hoping I was going to cower under your idle legal threats by doing it privately?

Heya! Sorry for causing this tension but being so far away and all, my only option is to ask questions and do a bit of research like I did.

You have nothing to be sorry for.Caz wrote:Heya! Sorry for causing this tension but being so far away and all, my only option is to ask questions and do a bit of research like I did.
You did the right thing by asking questions.
