Yeah I never consider a request to 'Gone for good' unless the person passes away. But even then if they happened to have a bunch of pre-signed photos on had before they passed, you may get lucky.

Yeah, every one of my successes has come within 4 or so months. The only one that took longer was due to a post office error.
Best successes: Gal Gadot, Jennifer Lawrence, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Rachel McAdams
Best Responses: Freida Pinto, Gemma Arterton, Berenice Marlohe, Jeremy Renner
Recent successes: Connie Nielsen, Ursula Corbero, Daniela Melchior, Kate Beckinsale, Amber Heard

Re: BEST TRICKS TO GET AUTOS???
I picked up writing again at the end of May, and since then a little over half of my requests have come back. So that's 6 months in total, but come to think of it, the majority of those came within 4 months.
2014 Successes:
Tom Baker, Patrick Stewart (vv), Peter Cullen, Robin Atkin Downes, Jenna-Louise Coleman, Trace Beaulieu, George Lowe, Joe Dante, Willem Dafoe, Jeffrey Brown, Maurice LaMarche, Alan Oppenheimer, Penn & Teller (last success 10/14/14)

Re: BEST TRICKS TO GET AUTOS???
No real tricks, although I'm currently developing some kind of potion to combat that.
Haha, seriously though, you need to just write a good, truthful, sincere letter, and include everything necessary to get a response.

Best trick? Always include SASE. Make it easy for the celeb.
Otherwise nice and sincere letter will always be better than just "hi, I want your autograph, thanks" because some celebrities actually do read their fanmail.
But that is a point of view from a person (me) who is and writes letters as a fan, not an autograph collector.
I only write to people that I admire. On the other hand, why should a collector pretend they love the celeb´s work, while they only want another addition to their collection and otherwise do not really care...
