Mailing a Book?

Unread post by TheBritishBloke »

So I bought Stephen Fry's new autobiography the other day, and once I'm done reading it I was going to send it to him to be signed, I was wondering if anyone has any advice of how to send it?

It will be staying within the UK, so it won't be shipping too far.

I was already going to remove the cover (hardback) and mail just the book, to prevent damage to the cover too.

Thanks in advance!

When I send to get a booked signed, I do the opposite, I send the dust covers and keep the books. just in case they dont come back.

I've already input to the other thread referred to above, but sending a hardback it's the corners you need to watch out for as they have a tendency to get bumped.

If you're using a jiffy bag, wrap card around it with about an inch of card overhanging both top and bottom. You can then fold the long sides in towards each other, and this should give it enough strength to survive the return journey. Tape it reasonably loosely along the long edge so that the book can slide in and out, hopefully he'll put it back in again to return it.

Good luck
