sending during the holiday season

i was wondering if you guys send through the holiday season like anytime of year, or do you wait till the rush season is over to send out your requests?

have you guys had anything you felt was lost specifically due to the overload of the holiday season? do you feel safe sending it out?

Generally speaking I do not send out any requests in the month of December. Or at least send V-E-R-Y few. I do not believe that I have sent more than ten or fifteen in the past 5 years (total not 10 or 15 each year).

Why? I think it's just a psycho-ceramic (defination "crack pot") idea of mine. Mostly it's because I fear that my requests could get lost, mis-placed during the holidays.

I actually have good results during this time of the year. Many actors and musicians are checking in with thier management and etc. while they are home for holidays. Some even personalize the autographs back with happy holidays, or something like that.

I don't bother sending any mail during December as USPS can become unreliable at this point. Seemingly every year, I end up with other people's mail, and often ones that are complete misses. I live in NY, and I've gotten mail that were supposed to go to other states, and one year I even got mail that was from Seattle to Seattle.

I don't really see much danger in it. It's no different to sending out a Christmas card, really. I'm usually busier in December anyway though, so I'll probably end up sending out less.

I do tend to send out far less requests in the month of December. Too much hustle and bustle going on for me personally.

I am not afraid of them getting lost in december but i generally stop sending completely from about the 10th of december until after new years because everyone including celebs are busy with xmas and family and most agencies and venues probably close down for a week or 2 over xmas anyways.
