How is it with this legal authenticity actually? I am just curious. You cannot exactly replace person´s signature by autopen on a contract or sth. Or can you?

That would be bigger issue for identity theft than fear of signing index cards :) I just don´t get it

Technically, for an autopen there was one original signature and the other are "copies" done by machine. PP also had one original and the rest are copies done by machine. Seems worthless all the same
I could be wrong, but I believe autopens were first invented circa WWII so the president could sign cheques and death letters to family members of soldiers. So yes, they are legally binding. But I don't think they are in this case.

I admit it is a big surprise for me. I mean, if you can use in the court of law? You never even had the pen in your hand.
It´s interesting, looks like I am going to find some more about this. Thanks for the input!

For me as a fan - receiving an autopen equals failure, but it can be nice f.e. if you want to display "signed" poster and would be afraid to put authentic sig in the sunlight or something. So I understand why some people want it.

But
I guess they are "legally right" about the book then. Still a failure in my eyes and the misleading is shameful. (I have not bought the book, just my thoughts). 8)
