Personally, I think it's a bit early for Sami. She's only joined the forum a bit over 2 weeks ago.
As I said in the previous post for greendaygirl - it's not just the quantity of posts, it's also the quality of the information in the posts. Many of her posts have been things like "Great success."
Sami needs a bit more time.

I agree as well!!! I think there should be a sticky in a thread stating what you should consider before you request yourself or someone else to become a moderator!! There have been some many requests lately with members wanting to be moderators, but some of them still don't know what a SASE is or how to help people with questions.

I agree with you

No moderator should request another member to be a moderator without first posting the members details on the moderators forum. This gives all the affected moderators time to comment either way.
Once the person has been reviewed and agreed by the other moderators only then should they be approached.
Unfortunately we can do little to stop other members from asking to become moderators and it will always be a matter of the current moderators to decide (with Admin

We cannot really post a "policy" as some very new members will have a great deal of experience (like Robin) and make fabulous moderators, but more long-standing members might never be suited to moderating

Then if Admin tells them to contact the other moderators then we know they are worth considering
After all, that is what the Moderators Forum is for

Ian

this might just be me being stupid but...
No moderator should request another member to be a moderator until they have posted their intentions on the moderators forum and given all the affected moderators time to comment either way.
...how can they post their intentions on the moderators forum if they are not already moderators? surely they dont have access to that forum otherwise?
or am i just being a bit dozy while i am holed up unwell in bed. darn chest infections. bah

Hey Robin
Get well soon
What I meant is that no moderator should approach another member to be a moderator until they (the moderator) has posted their intentions on the moderators forum and given all the affected moderators time to comment either way on this member.
e.g., If you as a moderator think that memberX would make a good moderator then you should post details of this member on the Moderators forum for other moderators to comment on before you (as the recommending moderator) contacts the member.
Other members who have not been recommended by a moderator will still have to contact Admin / or moderators direct as they will obviously not have access to the Moderators Forum themselves.
I hope this makes sense, and apologies if this wasn't clear
Ian
PS I have amended my original post above to make it a bit clearer
