Returned LOR's
Personally, I hate it when I get my LOR letter sent back to me with the autographed items. Makes you wonder if they don't appreciate fan latters. Anyone else feel the same?
One the flip side though, I do enjoy an enclosed letter/ note from the star. Makes it all the more special.

I've had that happen several times, but usually the celeb writes a thank you note on it, like Martin Sheen, Johnny Sheffield, Shirley Temple, etc.

Re: Returned LOR's
The only letters I've written which have come back (as far as I can remember) have had a little note on from the person I've written to, which I think is rather nice, although once a letter has been sent it's gone and I've no wish to see it again.
I can see where you're coming from, but when you think about how many letters celebrities must receive, it's a bit presumptious to assume that they even read them, let alone have space in their homes to keep them. If they do read it, then the good wishes will remain with them, but it seems rather presumptious to assume that the paper they are written on is anything other than disposable ephemera. I assume that most are put out with the recycled paper once a fortnight.
There was recently a rather lovely questionnaire returned to a poster here from Brigitte Bardot, in which she says that she receives about 100 letters a week, which is 5,000 letters a year - that is a lot of sheets of paper.

I've only received my letters back three times, and each time the celeb had written a note on it. THAT I like

Re: Returned LOR's
I have had small notes written on the bottom of my returned letters, which is OK as I can detatch them from the original letter and keep. It's when you get your letter back - unsigned anywhere irks me slightly. At least I get a response, I should be grateful for that.
What do you guys think when you recieve a letter in with your signed pics? I always put that down as a 100% success result when a letter ot sub note is attatched.
Another irk I get is when you send out a photo to be signed, and they sign the reverse... oh man...

nope, don't get irked by that either, perhaps I'm just easily pleased :-)Another irk I get is when you send out a photo to be signed, and they sign the reverse... oh man...
Extra little notes are lovely, I had one back with a doodled self-portrait and signature on the piece of card I enclosed to stop the picture from getting bent - now that was much more exciting than the photo!

So wait, the celeb signed on the reverse side instead of the actual photo? I've only had that happen twice, once on a trading card and once on a postcard.Jojo Champion wrote:Aarraagghh, just recieved another sig on the reverse side of the photo - this time on an image I designed myself. *breathe deep*....
