Posting pictures to my post

Hey, I'm still confused on how to post a picture on my post. Like I understand you can put the link but how to you post pictures using these "symbols"

copy the link first using photobucket or imageshack then in a new post try pressing [img]....the cursor will between the two -- control v will paste the file between them and voila! your image will appear on your post.
