My Dad and basically every other Minnesotan grew up watching the AWA and it was passed down from generation to generation. His favorite wrestler was the Crusher! He still talks about him and even remarked that the Sandman reminded him of Crusher. And, from the little I’ve seen of Da Crusher he was very entertaining. I think he even got legit sad the day Crusher died. And, that made the news! The local station had packages about him. The AWA guys are still fondly remembered in Minnesota.

Here’s another cool story. I have a cousin that used to work with Baron Von Raschke’s son Karl. Well for Christmas one year we all get personalized autographed photos of the Baron! Greatest X-mas present ever.

A lot of pro wrestlers have come and gone over the years but it always gets me seeing the WCCW guys that have passed on. I think it was because how young these guys were when they died. I mean I’m 27 years old and Mike, David & Chris didn’t make it to 27. Gino was 29 and it was all a such a shame. Even most of the arenas are now gone. It’s hard to describe but I just get sad knowing that hardly anything from WCCW is left now.

What's you all's thoughts on how many times one should send a wrestling talent?

And how many items do you think should be sent per mailing?

Personally, I think if you mail someone more than twice that it does a disservice to fellow collectors.

As for item numbers, quality over quantity. If I can get a good 8 x 10 signed, I'd rather have it sent along than four trading cards.

Your thoughts?

Can you please tell me how you got that Y2J 8 X 10 ?

PLEASE !!!!!!!!

Now for your questions.

What's you all's thoughts on how many times one should send a wrestling talent?

I would not send more than one time for most of the boys. I will admit after "THE KINGS" last run I sent a letter telling him how great it was to see him in action again. He signed my printout and filled out my Q & A.

And how many items do you think should be sent per mailing?

Two.

Personally, I think if you mail someone more than twice that it does a disservice to fellow collectors.

I think it really depends on the talent. Sheamus might have been overwelmed with requests. There has not been a sucess in a while. Old School boys like "Polish Power"and "Cowboy Bob Jr." I would like to think enjoy their fanmail. The more the better.

As for item numbers, quality over quantity. If I can get a good 8 x 10 signed, I'd rather have it sent along than four trading cards.

I am not big into cards unless they are certified. I would like an 8 x 10 any day over a trading card.

P.S. Please tell me how you got that Y2J 8 x 10 signed.

Haven't had anything come in this week that I know of, after such a dismal January for me and a truly great February it's been kind of a bummer to go to the mail everyday and find it empty. I did FIND a success yesterday that I hadn't seen and had a West Palm Beach, FL postmark from December yesterday that fell behind my nightstand that turned out to be two-signed cards from Jack Swagger. I wonder how long it's been back there? lol

Anyways, he signed my '09 & '10 Topps cards and sent them back without the top loader. I'm surprised they came back in such great condition.

As far as the question regarding how many times to send to someone, how much to send, etc I think I think if you space out your requests (2-3 months at a time) it's not a disservice if you send more than once. Case in point, I sent to Sheamus back in September and BECAUSE he signed my card and sent back the 8x10 that he did I felt compelled to go out and buy his Hometown Heroes, World Championship Material, and Topps Town inserts and I also purchased a copy of The Wrestler/Inside Wrestling with him on the cover holding the WWE Championship that I sent in December (never received that stuff back) and I even bought the Extreme Rules dvd since then with the idea that if my other stuff ever comes back I might give it a little time and try again. I send out trading cards and use that response to gauge whether or not investing more into that talent is worth it to get something that's nicer to display. Those that send to someone and turn around and send right back almost immediately after getting one response are the ones doing a disservice to fellow collectors, and unless I'm paying the person that I'm sending to I usually don't send more than 2 (3 at best) items at one time. Case in point being the '91 Wrestling Legends Bruno Sammartino cards. I sent all 6 at once, but I included $30 with them to pay him for the autographs and included my email address in my LOR incase he felt I should pay more. Bruno as most of us know will sign for free so long as you provide shipping, and he did keep the $30 I sent but that's the point is he signed my stuff and kept the money I sent his way.

In what is a weird AWA success streak.. Today's success..

Wayne "The Train" Bloom - 2/14-3/5 - Signed my Beverly Brothers custom that Mike Enos had already signed. This was one of my most wanted! I was a HUGE fan of Enos and Bloom. Very STOKED about this return! {up} Here's the pic..

Went too the Raw house show in Alexandria, Louisiana last night. Only one that was willing too walk through the mud too sign was Evan Bourne, but a lot did acknowledged the fans by waving or talking too us from the muddy parking lot.

Evan Bourne signed card from last night.
