But I wanted to share this odd/unique? story.
I had a friend who moved to the UK for a short while, several years ago. There was a Star Wars convention on in Basildon while they were there. I asked them if they'd mind getting some things signed if I mailed them over.
They went to the convention and set about getting things signed. They said there were signs everywhere instructing not to ask the actors for mailing addresses - and each actor had a PA to enforce this. When my friend got to the table of an elderly looking "Rebel General" (now deceased
My friend thought this sounded like a bargain (and even bought an extra signed photo for themselves). As the General was signing the CD he said to my friend "I'll put my phone number on here and if your friend likes the CD he can call me and tell me". According to my friend, the General's assistant lady had a look of horror on her face when he did this!
When my signed CD arrived (and after my friend told me this story), I thought... "should I call?" but the General put the number on there for a reason. Taking into account the time difference, I called and got to have a lovely 5 minute chat with a Rebel General from Hoth!
Has anyone had an experience like this?
