How long should I wait...

Unread post by GUN5L1N6ER »

I am new to collecting autographs. Like a complete newbie, I have a million questions. The one question that keeps surfacing in my mind is this one.

How long should I wait after sending a request a certain celebrity, athlete, etc., before I either send another request or just write that person off as a failure?

Any information y'all can give will be most appreciated! Thanks!

So far, I've only ever gotten 2 replies from celebrities.

They BOTH took over a year, and I had completely given up on both by the time they arrived, but I'm so glad they came back.

To be honest, wait a year and a half, because I waited a year, resent a request, and the original one came back the next month.

So a year AT LEAST but if it's a popular celeb, wait a bit longer. Obviously if it's Via Venue, then more then a month means you should move on.

Britney Spears==>> 6 #1 albums. 2 diamond albums. 8 platinum albums. 400+ awards. 200M+ records sold. Britney has sold over 45 million records this decade despite only releasing three albums. Globally, Britney has more #1 singles than any other female artist except Madonna and Rihanna. "Oops!...I Did It Again" by Britney is the 5th best selling album of the 2000s decade worldwide. Britney is the only female artist to chart her first seven albums in the top two of the Billboard 200. Britney has achieved at least one #1 album in 3 different decades (90's, 00's, 10's). Britney is the first solo female artist from the 90's to reach 1 billion Spotify streams. Despite NOT even being a single, 'Tom's Diner', ft. Britney , has become Giorgio Moroders best-selling digital track. 2015 Billboard Awards ratings reached a 14-year high, with numbers peaking during Britney's performance. She IS the princess of Pop. Don't start thinking that they'll all take years to get a response.

No, they all wont, BUT some can. And the user asked "how long should we wait until we re-send a request...." so we answered the question.

I was just noting that no one mentioned to the new collector that they all won't take a year to be returned. Obviously some can take years, but on average they take about half that, which no one mentioned.
