to an agent verses VV (time sensitive question)

Before the database went down I checked and there was no TTM feedback for an actor I want to write to. I've found an address where he'll be doing something VV on June 5th. It's a one day, one time thing. Do you think I should try sending to him VV instead of to his agent?

I've sent an email to the venue he'll be at, asking if they could pass on mail to him. If they say that yes, they can pass on mail do you think it'd be better if I sent to the VV address?

I've read that i'm supposed to write "Hold until June 5" on the envelope. If I write something about returning if undeliverable on the envelope (or whatever the proper phrase for the post office is) will they return the letter to me if it doesn't get delivered to him?

How many days in advance should I try to get it there? 3-5 maybe?

They wrote that they would not feel comfortable doing that. However, I'd still appreicate some answers for future reference.

Typically if the mail doesn't get passed onto the celeb it will come back RTS automatically depending on their policy. Some might just toss mail if it's not picked up. But if you write for them to return it if it's notpicked up, I'm sure they'll send it back to you. I like to send at least a few days ahead if the Venue is in the USA.
