Re: Comic Book Collectors
Spent my day drawing a Dalek chasing The Roadrunner and racing a RC car around the park until it ran out of fuel.
Re: Comic Book Collectors
My day was spent getting ready for Phx Comicon (GPSing the route, taking out $$, working out an autograph seeking schedule, etc.). Oh, and the Joe Sinnott/Dr. Doom sketch arrived, so I stared at it lovingly for quite a while.

Re: Comic Book Collectors
Wow, Bourbon and 70s era Spiderman after a day with the kids. That may be the perfect set up. I didn't do any geekday stuff, but did get to take my daughter to the flea market Saturday. I scored a copy of Uncanny X-men 129 and a handful of old JLAs for 5 bucks. I also got a 60s era table hockey set with working electric for 8 bucks. She got an umbrella hat, so we were both happy as pigs in $h!%.
JasonS wrote:My geek pride day was spent playing/being Nightwing and all the bad guys with our youngest son (who was Batman of course), watching the movie "The Lost Skeleton Returns Again", and after dinner watched Astonishing X-Men: Gifted with the boys. After they go to bed I will sit up and read old Spider-Man comics from the 1970s and drink a double bourbon.
Yup, life in our house is pretty much all about comic books and super heroes.

It is con-season.

I will NOT PM you an address.
I will assist you in getting said address.
IE: give you pointers on where to get it.

Great day at Phoenix Comicon...here are the art prints I picked up, all signed by the artists:
3 from Mark Dos Santos:

Mark Mckone:

Michael Golden (can't see at all in the pic, but it's signed by Storm Shadow's foot):

and my personal favorite, a gorgeous print of Mr. Freeze by artist Livio Ramonoelli:

Tomorrow, I'll be picking up a commissioned sketch of Black Manta from Ethan Van Sciver!

Re: Comic Book Collectors
Those are some sweet prints there! I gotta order the 10th Doctor one and saw an 11th Doctor one on Mr. Santos' website.
Scifi, comic books and a few other areas are my interests in autograph collecting. If you want to talk feel free to pm me.

Yeah I was pretty tempted by the 11th Doctor print, but the 10th print really grabbed me and said, "buy me!"klingonmaquis wrote:Those are some sweet prints there! I gotta order the 10th Doctor one and saw an 11th Doctor one on Mr. Santos' website.

Full body Zatanna by Jackie Santiago (Manga and a bunch of card sets soon to be a huge artist). Cant deny this chick is GREAT. After getting some copic marker art commissioned Im getting less and less interested in line drawings. Im pretty sure this type of art is soon to take over at cons.
