Will these acid free pockets keep my autographs safe?

Unread post by 1autograph1 »

I was wondering whether anybody could tell me whether or not these acid free pockets (http://www.arrowfile.com/product.asp?p ... 6J60PEY48) would adiquately protect my autographs. At the moment they are framed and in contact with the glass, I want to keep them framed but place them into the acid free pockets before doing so, will this prevent the autograph and it's paper from getting damaged by the frame and fading (it is out of direct sunlight). I may also just place them in the acid free pockets and alphabetically box them/put them in a binder.
Thanks, any help would be appreciated because I want my autos to last but I'm just unsure about what type of acid free stuff I should buy.
Cheers.

Those look good to me!! Anything Acid free and PVC free works perfectly. And the sooner you get them in those holders and not in direct contact with the glass in the frames the better!! Over time photos will stick to the glass and then you risk ruining the autograph when you go to take it out. :( Putting a matte in the frame works better too, so it keeps the photo off the glass just a little bit. {up}

I agree with Ryan. Anything Archival and Acid free is perfect. And yes get the autograph off the glass..it will ruin it.
