Hi, I live in the UK and there are several people I'd like to write to in USA and Australia (Geoffrey Rush!) but I don't know where to start with paying for the postage back to me in the UK. Should I include those tokens you can get from the Post Office? Or something else?
Many thanks!!!

Hi
You can get International Reply Coupons (IRC's) from the post office so normally its best to include 2 of these with each request. They cost about £1.40 for one now i think so they are quite expensive.
Another option is to go to a money exchange place and get some US Dollars, i've started doing this cos it works out cheaper just including a couple of dollars per request.
I'm in the UK also so i usually do that, but sometimes, cos i live in a very small place, i find it hard to get the IRC's so i'll just write in my letter apologising that i haven't been able to get any postage coupons or US Stamps to include and just send my self addressed envelope with no postage.
Hope that helps :-)

Befriend a collector from the US or Australia and do a stamp exchange with them or swap an autograph for some local stamps. If you have $40 autograph that they want, they can send you $40 worth of international stamps in return.emdramaqueen wrote:Hi, I live in the UK and there are several people I'd like to write to in USA and Australia (Geoffrey Rush!) but I don't know where to start with paying for the postage back to me in the UK. Hey. It is always better to have stamps of the country where the celeb is. I'm from the US, and I have sent US cash for return postage and doing that I have had a bunch of successes. But again always try to get stamps first.

How much money should I put in the envelope to be returned? Do I buy US stamps for the SASE? If I want to send it to the UK?
