Missed my point, I think. People once found that a very acceptable collecting practice. Quite rightly much less acceptable in our more civilized society today.JonAQ wrote:I do think that's weird, and wrong...lolgoswannies wrote:Is it any more weird that old men in safari suits collecting the heads of animals they shot?
Is collecting autographs via-fanmail considered weird?

I don't think that it's weird at all. I'm not even just saying that because I collect autographs via fan mail. As long as someone doesn't constantly write to a certain celebrity, it is not stalkerish. Many celebrities enjoy seeing how much people admire them and honoring their fans' requests for autographs.

Paleontologists? Museum curators? And you prove my point! You think it's strange to collect fossils, but a display of fossilized trilobites and ancient sharks teeth or dinosaur bones would look rather interesting.Trilobite wrote:goswannies wrote: Or collecting million year old rocks because they have little bits of fossilized animals in them?Who would do such a strange thing???
P.S. Nice avitar! Do YOU collect fossils Trilobite?
