No, it's not. If a buyer wants tracking and insurance, then the buyer should pay for it. A seller can't be held responsible for what a courier does with mail.

Good luck with that. Your argument would not hold up in any court of law. Once an item has been paid for, it's the sellers responsibility to deliver that item. Period. There is no discussion past that, and even if the USPS loses it, the seller is still responsible.

Already lost a case on ebay with it and I was the BUYER. The item was sent recorded so the the seller was covered, I had to claim through the post office. I got £25 back from them which was crap as the item cost me around £80.

I'm just happy that this case looks to be solved :) never nice for items to go missing.

Simon, u should know that opinions on whether sellers should be responsible for lost items or not could vary so u cannot just say that what u think is right. sue's opinion is different and it can be definitely okay(if she did mail out the auto)..u shouldn't have informed everyone as if shes an absolute bad seller...

good luck solving it but u should think about this i think...

Megann i don't have 2 think about anything i am old enough 2 no what i am saying.
I paid for this item 6wks ago and i still not received it. She states she sent it i cant say she didn't but she cant prove she did either. She says she sent it normal post but was able to be told by the postal service it was being RTS...urrrm,... u cant get that info unless u send a item recorded delivery. She then states she has recvd it back but it doesn't state why it was returned even though she placed the correct address on it...urm...when u recv a letter rts you get a sticker on it telling you the reason 4 the RTS.

there are 2 many questions to this 4 me to say ohh she sent it when she did, i have now gave her more money to send it recorded delivery and asked 4 the tracking number so we will soon see hey.

Finally i NEVER to anyone NOT 2 buy from her as she is a BAD seller i was informing people of my experience with this seller its called "FEEDBACK" which u can leave on Amazon, Ebay and other sites.

Hi Simon,

I am sorry, I have unexpectedly become to go on a trip for one week with my family, and since we left very early this morning, I couldn't mail out your autograph today. Unfortunately, I'll be able to mail it out next Friday. I am very sorry for delaying!

Sounds a little dodgy to me, I hope that you do get your autograph Simon.

With the whole 'seller responsible thing'.... I think that seller's should offer a choice to the Buyer if they'd like to purchase insusrance for their goods, but they can't really be responsible for things that do get lost or stolen in the mail, it's entirely out of their control once they've left it for the Post Office to deal with. But like I said they should offer insurance if the Buyer is willing to pay the extra to make sure it gets there.

I wouldn't like to be held resposible if something I sold was lost or stolen, but I would also state that when selling, and a choice of insurance given.

That's my thoughts :)

Good luck Simon, hope it runs smoothly eventually!

But it's weird, that I had the same problem with Sue. I mean, I bought her autograph and sent the money. Never got the autograph (she sent it out she said) and she states that she never got the money... I don't believe that.
I've never had those problems and did some trades and purchases in the past successfully...
Sue is a very bad seller!!!! Keep away from her!!!
