Yeah, it kind of threw me for a second, too. I don't know how many requests he gets, but I would guess it's not an overwhelming amount. That being said, it doesn't bother me that much...I'll chalk it up an unlucky break. I'll try him again in the future.shadow316 wrote:Wow, I gotta say I'm kind of surprised to see this. Normally this is something you see from winning teams who get a ton of mail. I sort of doubt Mr. Mayhew is getting flooded with autograph requests. Oh well, if he doesn't want to sign it's cool. Thanks for the heads up, saved me a stamp on this one.jcash21 wrote:You could try both of them c/o Pro Football Hall of Fame.
As for me, I had a Martin Mayhew failure today. I received my card unsigned with a "too busy to sign" letter from the Lions. Kind of a bummer, but I'll just try again some other time.
I will echo what leebo said about Bruce Smith. He's a great guy, but if you don't send c/o the HOF he WILL return your item either RTS or unsigned. Not that this matters, but his sig is kind of messy too. I got him to sign a ball for me at a charity event years ago. When I got Bernie Kosar to sign the same ball, he looked at me and asked me if Bruce had signed this. I told him he did and Bernie told me to get him to sign it again because that sig was terrible. He yelled the same to Bruce and they both got a good laugh out of it. Messy sig or not, still one of the favorites in my collection
On another note, do any of you guys have any tips on sending posters ttm? I've got a 1990 Washington Redskins team poster (not one of the big, full-size posters) and I was thinking of sending it to a few of the guys. I know you'd send it in the mailing tube...but how would you get it returned? Just curious...not really urgent.
