Price Help Please!

Hey Guys-

I am pretty new at this and just sent out my first 4 letters with SASE's and LOR's today (LOR's are just letters to the person saying what you like about them and why they are important to you right?) Well anyway with stamps and what not it was $2.16 cents an evolope, $1.08 for SASE and $1.08 for the one the SASE is in. Plus the cost of the envolopes 25 cents each. I don't want to sound cheap I was just wondering if this sounds about right? If not do you have any tips tricks to cut costs? Thanks and sorry if this is a dumb question!

if your just sending a small card or photo to a person, buy a boo of stamps.. its like 20 stamps for 7$, then buy box of 100 envelopes which you can get for like 1.50...... then just leave a small letter for the playe asking for an autograph
its alot cheaper to me....
