I am trying to understand this, really.

So the signed items come back in your SASE with AU stamps on. Or is your SASE & item enclosed in another envelope? As I have looked at a few of your international succeses where you have a picture of the envelope, and the AU SASE's appear to be clean, no mailing/post office franking at all.

I know though sometimes things slip through the net, I have had some clean envelopes come back but not all.

The only success that did NOT come back in my sase was Celine Dion NOR do they come back inside envelopes with oseas stamps.

ALL of my successes from oseas come back in MY ssae with MY aussie stamps on - most of the time the franking is a thin line down the opposite side of the envelope not on the stamps.

I do not understand why you refuse to believe me? WHY on earth would I make something like this up when I have been collecting since 1983 and it is waht I have always done?????

Also it is not just me, other friends of mine out here do the same thing & have the same success.

There was also 2 occasions this year I forgot to put stamps on my envelopes & the person I sent to put them back in the post with NO stamps on at all & they came back to me too.

Hey now, no need to get angry with her! Some people are in disbelief because the rule has always been that your country's stamps are only good within your own country. What you do can easily put postal services out of business! I spend extra money on buying US stamps from the United States Postal Service [I'm in Canada] so that I can put US stamps on the SASEs I send to to the US. If I could do what you're doing, I'd save a whole lotta dough! But my luck, my letters would get caught... send some of your luck my way, will ya?

I have the right to be upset when someone is pretty much calling me a liar. I do not know why I bother trying to help people on here. Someone from my own country asked for advice & I told them what i have always done & that it has always worked for me. Kimmylee says people have told her that & she does not believe them so I guess that makes me a liar & as if the postal service would ever go out of business in any country.

I do what I have done since 83 and that's that. I really do not appreciate being questioned & my being a liar alluded to when I was just answering someone's question.

Well when people know for a fact that you CAN'T do what you've been doing all these years, it's normal that people are a little skeptical. Not of YOU per se, but of trying what you've been doing at the risk of it not working for them. I personally have never heard of "international postage" but if its been working for you, maybe it IS allowed. Maybe it's an unwritten rule of sorts, because I've asked post offices over the years that tell you you can't use stamps from your own country as return postage from another country. Right now I'm just really confused! Post offices say you can't do what you've been doing... and yes, the postal service can lose lots of money if any international stamps work in any country. I'm not saying what you're doing is wrong, I'm just saying, you're really lucky it's worked for you all this time. I personally would be afraid of trying it. Most of the time when I've sent within Canada and the celeb has gone back to the US, they've removed my postage and put postage from their own country to send back to me. I personally am not calling you a liar, I'm just shocked it's worked for you all this time!

I guess I'm with the others here.. not saying that you're lying, but it's a fact that countries can only use their own stamps, otherwise why would we all bother having different stamps? Or what would be the point of IRCs existing? However you're getting those replies, your stamps aren't what's paying the postage.

My returns come back with only my stamps on them & no other form of payment so I have no idea what you mean by 'my stamps aren't paying the postage'??

I had no idea that by saying I do this & have done it since 1983 it would cause such a huge upset?!?!? It's what I do & have always done. It works for me & always has. Be skeptical, I really do not care. Was only trying to help out another Aussie. I will not come back to this thread to have people have a go at me. Have more pressing issues in my life. This is just one of the hobbies I have had since I was a kid & enjoy & have alot of experience with.

Won't try & help someone out again in future after this.

I don't think anyone is actually attacking you. It's just what you've claim to have done defies fact and logic, so of course people are skeptical.

Either way, I wouldn't recommend anyone else trying this.

I have used UK stamps when sending return postage to another country, and it got through. I only had a few IRC's, and was wanting to write to Kylie on her Australian tour - i sent out two requests - the first one i put UK picture stamps (anyone in the UK will know that we get issue stamps now and again), and that success came back from Australia to the UK no problems. Ironically the second request i sent, i attached 3 IRC's to it and ive never heard back!!! i guess it depends on the postal system if they recognise stamps??
