Where do you get all these 4 by 6's?

Unread post by Blackhawks026 »

This may sound like a dumb question to alot of you more experienced collectors lol but im new to this. Anyways where exactly do you all get your 4 by 6 photos from? Like is there a certain website or store or something that sells them? Any help would be great :)

There's splitfish, or you could just go to Walmart/CVS and print them out yourself. With CVS and Walgreens just watch copyright infringements. By this I mean don't print DVD covers or CD covers.

Print my own. 9c a copy & easy to fit into a standard envelope cheap to post. Design your own using something like photoshop.

Put your own together using Photoshop or whatever you have or can get your hands on, then order them online. It's a good idea to remove obviously identifiable logos and copyright symbols, as Ravenmaniac says, although most companies run them through a machine without the staff having to give them more than a cursory glance now and then, so most places aren't nearly as fussed about it as their terms and conditions are legally required to suggest.

In the UK a huge number of photo companies, supermarkets etc. have offers of free ones when you sign up and order online. A couple I've found allow you to sign up with them more than once, not that I would condone doing such a thing, even to a huge American-based multinational profit-making machine.

I print them online, usually at Snapfish. Their 4x6s I believe are normally 9c each, but they have a few good codes going on now:

50PERCENT will cut most items' prices in half
JULY200PRNTS gets you 200 prints for $2
JULY100PRNTS gets you 100 prints for $1

These all expire in a few days though I think.

It's all personal preference. 8x10s are the "standard", but some people may choose to go a smaller size like 4x6 or 5x7 because they cost less to print and send. It's all up to you.
