Cool story. I'm all for grown men cracking jokes, holding up signs, trying to draw them over in an honest, creative way, that's fine. That's how Sylvester gets Tweety, whatever. What I don't like is grown men with tunnel vision and act like nothing will stand in the way of them and autograph. I've seen some pretty pathetic things happen at training camps over the years. Really makes you question humanity and slowly turn into the miserable prick I am today lol its a fun hobby, but Jesus, it attracts a ot of low-lifes.1/10mtndiv wrote:Also to the guy who asked about 8x10s: that's all I send, they look better on walls. Sometimes u get a player who only signs cards but I always put a sticky note on the photo asking them to make it out to me. This way they know I'm not trying to sell their autograph. I have a pretty decent success rate with 8x10s through football teams and home address. But I have pretty horrible luck with them through baseball teams and 8x10s.
On the 8x10 thing, I send so many that it would be impossible to send 8x10 of everybody so I go the index card route, unless I've had a success and know Ill get it back. Oftentimes when I get an ok through Facebook or email to send a guy somethingl for that occasion, Ill print up pictures. But its quite an expense to print or purchase, say, 20 8x10's over a period of time and never get them back. Index cards, I'm out the cost of 2 stamps if they never come back.
