Prining out own photos

Unread post by marycollins316 »

If we want to send a celeb. a photo we printed out, how to I make it look like a photo instead of a piece of paper?

Not sure what you mean? most print theirs out on photo paper, which is more thicker than regular paper and looks more like photo quality. I personally don't print mine from home, as overtime home printer inks will conflict with the marker ink and turn it yellow in some cases. I have all my photos printed professionally at a photo lab. {up}

First off you need a printer that is made for printing photos which most newer ones are and then what you need is to buy photo paper which is alot thicker than regular paper and has a glossy or semi - gloss finish and then print them out and i know i print my own photos on a canon printer with decent quality photo paper and they turn out nicer than ones i have bought froma lab in the past they look awesome but the ink can get expensive but for me personally i like to have my photos right when i need them so i print my own.you can buy a pack of good quality 50 4x6 or 5x7 photo paper for about 10 dollars or a 30 pack of larger paper for about the same. As far as what ryan said about the inkjet paper maybe turning the autos yellow or something i have no idea if that would ever happen and if so it would probably take many many years but i doubt it wil happen if you use a good quality ink and paper.I posted a few example photos below of how i generally do my photos so the autgraphs are never even touching the ink anyways and it leaves room for nice inscriptions and clear autographs.

As Ryan says, get them printed at a supermarket or wherever you can find that's cheap.

The quality will be far, far better than you'll get at home. If I realise someone I'd like to write to is playing at the theatre opposite where I work I'll occasionally print one off on a super-duper high quality printer, but they still look rubbish compared to even the cheapest one from the cheap photo shop round the corner.

I totally disagree...the photos i print at home are much nicer than ones you get at stores.I use a canon printer with canon ink and high quality photo paper and the junk you get at stores does not compare to the quality i get on my printer...You must be using poor quality paper or something.

I'm very happy with the quality of the ones I get printed professionally in the UK, and at 25p (just under 40 US cents) each for a 7"x5" or 8"x6", and as many free 4"x6" ones as I can possibly use through introductory offers, it would be a very long time before a printer paid for itself in my case, once ink and quality photo paper was priced in as well. I'm fairly certain that the cost of the high quality paper on its own would cost more than the ones I get printed.

I'm not saying don't do it, but if you're on a budget it's a good idea to consider the economics of it, and do the research on the right printer, paper and ink for the job.

Yeah i guess it depends on your budget and the quality of the printer and ink is important too.I guess its cheaper to have them printed but i like to be able to get my pictures right away when i need them and i am fussy about the paper i like thick photo paper which you never seem to get with store bought photos because they are printing them for so cheap.
