Oh I think I'm somewhere beyond paranoid
There's actually only three people I really, truely admire and most want an autograph from - but I find them the hardest to write to! I got one of those letters sent out a few weeks ago, the other one is not even half finished yet (and bare in mind I joined this site months ago!!)
I spend ages re-editing my "first draft" of the letter. And even though I know they've worked on a particular film, I sometimes just re-check it online to make sure they did indeed work on it :? I hate the thought of writing about some film, them reading it and thinking, "What? I didn't do that....".
I'm also paranoid they'd maybe find something I wrote offensive, stupid, or something.

Once a letter is actually finished, I re-read it several times to check for spelling mistakes and make sure I didn't leave out a word or something

But it's like everything I do - I think about it too much, pick it apart, worry, and basically ruin it for myself! If I just get on with it at the start, I'd be fine. So I try not to force myself to sit down and write, but just do it when I fancy it - it comes out better and more natural then. (It still takes months though! *lol*)

I totally agree on that point. Some letters where easier to write than others, not that I didn't like the person that much or something, but sometimes I want to tell so many things to a person I really really admire and put so much stuff in a letter I have to stop myself to make sure I didn't write anything to much or come off weird or somehow ;)

Those letters make me a bit paranoid ;)

I sometimes get paranoid, I write my letters in 10's or 20's so it could be easy to get mixed up.
Im also a really bad speller, with me hand writing all my letters I always have to check my spelling and re-read because my letters sometimes make no sence at all.
When I wrote to JK rowling I was very paranoid with her been a great writer and me being the worlds worst

Right, when I wrote to Lance Henriksen I wanted to definitely mention two things - the film "Aliens" and the TV show "Millennium". When I actually wrote the letter, I wrote just a small paragraph about some pottery work I had done (it's a hobby of his), then I wrote about "Aliens" and I discovered that I was half way through the second side of the page :? I didn't imagine it'd take that much room so I just quickly added in something like, "I also have to mention Millennium, that was an amazing show"
I hated that because I wanted to write a little bit more on that as well, I didn't want it to be just about "Aliens" since I do like several other things, but I also didn't want to go onto another page in case it was too long a letter.
And of course now I'm kicking myself, I think I should've just wrote everything I wanted to and he can read it, skim over it or just have someone tell him who he has to dedicate the photo's to.

I'm sure most, if not all, of the celeb's will have some crazy fan who writes too often, proposes marriage, etc, and although I'm never going to write something like that and will (hopefully!) never be the worst letter they've received, I still don't want to be one of the one's they laugh at or something!

Every celeb has one of those, and that's Shaun.
