well my story is about 8 or 9 years ago. me and my dad started collecting sports memrobillia. we had just found out about ebay, and soon enough my room was filled with autographs figures etc. from those days on i loved the hobby of auto collecting, we then started going to memrobillia shows and such and i thought it was the coolest thing to be meeting these athletes /former athletes and be surroneded by all this merchandise. i became a autograph collector on my own when i discovered this site, i figured it was so easy to get a celebs autograph, i seriously thought i would write 40 letters and get all 40 back, but some of these guys got me to snap out of that thought i now know if you write 40 letters youll get 20 back.and i thought every celebrity signed i had all my letters lined up, i had planned on writing don henley paul mcartney and so many other music legends, until somebody said none of these guys sign and after a long explanation it stuck in my head. thank god i never wrote to any of these guys because it wouldve been a waste of time and money.

well thats my story
my first ip was a few members of the leafs
my first purchased(purchased on my own no parents around) was a dual signed gilmore girls autograph
and first ttm was maria sharapova

Fanmail.biz got me into collecting! Without it I wouldn't have realized that there are so many celebs I admire who are willing to send an authentic reply, so I'm really grateful that I just stumbled upon this site one day by chance. {thumb2}

It is so interesting and exciting to read your stories, thanks. {thumb2}

Well, I started collecting in the end of 2008. It was the middle of September or something like that... I just fell in love with music of one french singer. Her lyrics and music helped me a lot through and I felt that we're quite alike. I wanted to let her know what's on my mind, I wasn't going to ask for any autographs. I looked for her address in the internet and by the way, found it on Fanmail ;-) My mum helped me to compose a note using French language and I sent it. I did not use IRC. But in one month I received a reply! It was little letter and two hand signed photos - for me and my mum.

I was so excited, happy, grateful and proud! Thank you Fanmail.biz! {??}

I started collecting in 2003. I'm a big Harry Potter fan and I remember stumbling on this site in which the owner had a lot of Harry Potter autographs. Naturally, I wanted some of my own so I began writing to the cast of Harry Potter with the address he provided. Then I decided to write to other actors I liked and found fanmail.biz. :)

I think I was about 12 when I started. I have a cognitive disability (Asperger's Syndrome), so my mom and I would sit down and do writing exercises and drills to get me up to the same level as my classmates. Well, that kind of morphed into a lesson about a famous person in history/pop culture, and then she would find the address and help me write to them. The first few letters I didn't even think to ask for an autograph. Once I received a few autographs (without a SASE) we started asking.

It's been about a decade now, and it's turned into a great thing for me. It's really helped me learn how to communicate. I've even received a few responses complimenting me on my letter writing. :)

well firstly i got a few in person autographs from some singers that didn't get to be real famous and some olymic gymnasts but i didn't really think anything of it. On Michael Phelps website I found a address to request his autograph and did and then looking online I found a studio fan mail email address for Britany Daniels and got back an autograph and last year I was looking for a fan mail address to send a request to Tom Brady. I found this site and began sending out letters left and right and am now addicted.

Well, I have been getting some IP successes since 2004, mainly for professional wrestlers and musicians after concerts. Then I stumbled upon this site early in 2008, and have had some good successes TTM. The site has also been a valuable resource for just finding out info for IP opportunities. {up}

Back in 2004, Andrew J Robinson (from Star Trek: Deep Space 9) was coming to Prague to meet with ST fans. Naturally, me being a scifi freak, I had to go. It was my first meeting with a celebrity and it was great. Andrew Robinson was so cool, signed for everyone, took photos with everyone (they were later sent to him to sign as well) and overall I had a great time.

So I guess this positive experience was the foundation of my autograph collecting. About 1 year later, I bought Stargate SG-1 cast signed photo from eBay (which eventually turned out to be a poor fake :D) and some other autographs later (these were from a reputable seller and UACC dealer who organizes some conventions in the US so I think they're authentic).

But I still had no idea that one can write to celebs and get a reply until my girlfriend asked me to help her with a letter to William Moseley and has sent me a link to fanmail.biz. After that, I was lost :D That was in August 2008 and I have been hooked ever since :mrgreen:

Here is a photo from 2004 with me and Andrew J Robinson {up} God I'm so young on this pic :mrgreen:
