Back in April, I sent to Lynda Carter at what I believe is her home address. Still waiting, though I might not have put enough postage on the SASE. I'm not sure, don't remember how much I put on there.

The only other one I sent to a celeb's home address was Hugh Hefner. Got my photo back personalized a week after I mailed it off! (The Playboy Mansion is a private residence, you know)
Authentic successes TTM: Jay Leno, Bob Barker, Jim Tressel, Katee Sackhoff, Hugh Hefner, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Lucy Liu, Pawn Stars, Alex Trebek, Katy Perry, Steve Carell, Oscar Nunez, Lynda Carter, Jeff Foxworthy, Craig Ferguson, Jenna Fischer, Alan Jackson, Nancy Cartwright, Summer Glau, Edward James Olmos, Creed Bratton, Jewel Staite, the Mythbusters build team

Someone here just got a success from Lynda Carter's address, but it was a 6 month turnaround, so it's still early yet :) Was it the Maryland address?
2014 Successes:
Tom Baker, Patrick Stewart (vv), Peter Cullen, Robin Atkin Downes, Jenna-Louise Coleman, Trace Beaulieu, George Lowe, Joe Dante, Willem Dafoe, Jeffrey Brown, Maurice LaMarche, Alan Oppenheimer, Penn & Teller (last success 10/14/14)

Yup, address in Potomac, MD. I don't have any plans to resend, since it can take a long time with her, as you said. She was one of the first I ever sent to, before I really knew what I was doing, so I'm not sure if I used enough postage for the SASE. We'll see, I suppose.

Yes. I'd previously owned a book called, "Baseball Address List" and had multiple successes by mail. As with any other means, the celebrity either signs or doesn't sign no matter which address is provided.
A lot of it depends on the celebrity's popularity and the volume of mail they receive. For example: I once sent Sandy Koufax (he is an LA Dodgers Hall of Famer who is known not to like signing autographs) an 8x10 to an address that was listed as his home and it was returned 'refused/undeliverable'.
So some celebrities apparently already have an arrangement with the post office in place to destinguish their 'regular' mail from fan mail.

In the past I too have had authentic success via celebs homes (though I don't bother anymore) but as someone else mentioned it might be crossing the line. If you were a celeb would you want mail at your house begging for autographs?

Do keep in mind that many actors LOVE to hear about how great they are and will be just as happy to hear about it at home.

I am sure once their address becomes widely available they get overwhelmed with requests.

I was chatting with Jonathan Frakes and his wife (Genie Francis) at a private signing one time and we were discussing fan mail and such and they were actually shocked that some people actually sell databases with celebrities addresses in them and they both got quite upset about it. Luckily for them at the time nobody was selling their address. They were actually worried about stalkers/rabid fans and their children's safety.

Well, as with anything, there's a limit. If you're just sending a letter to a celeb's home I don't see why that's so bad; if you write them ten times and camp out at their house, that's another matter altogether.
2014 Successes:
Tom Baker, Patrick Stewart (vv), Peter Cullen, Robin Atkin Downes, Jenna-Louise Coleman, Trace Beaulieu, George Lowe, Joe Dante, Willem Dafoe, Jeffrey Brown, Maurice LaMarche, Alan Oppenheimer, Penn & Teller (last success 10/14/14)
