That is true neither do I! I do not write to a person because he/she is famous but I do because I admire them for what they did, even if they maybe just were 'famous' for one year!
But maybe I got you wrong! But you know I saw it more like you do not have to 'know' someone for a few years to 'like' them. And why do you call people in your example 'fools'?! That is kind of insulting to people who like such 'fools'. There are so many people I admire who are no longer considered to be famous and yet I still admire them. So I do not understand your point! And you know what? What you say does not match in my opinion: you cannot stand people who write to celebs just because they are famous and yet you only write to people who are in the spotlight for a longer period of time?! And you said 'will be forgotten in no time' that seems to me like you only collect of their fame because if you do like that album (let's take your example) why should you care that they only had one?! Nah we not gonna argue on this dont worry ;) I just like having - lets say, 'established' celebs' auto's who have given me a considerable career and lots of great bodies of work to enjoy. Like..I don't know how to explain it - lets take Will Young (british pop/soul/jazz singer), I wouldn't have written to him after his first album, because I might have hated his albums that were to follow, but I love all 3 of his albums and so wrote to him! Maybe you're right, perhaps I should broaden my horizons ;) oh and when I say 'fools' I say it in a Mr.T/A Team Hip Hop humorous typa way I don't have personal problems with any folks ;) *just editing to say that I don't write because people are famous, like Will Young - many people haven't a clue who he is! But he's a bloody good singer whose work I've enjoyed for 6 years now, that's how I choose who to write to!*
