If you are going to post please have the courtesy to share the addresses....If you not going to share don't post just to brag about your successes...It is nice to have successes but please share the address so your fellow collectors can share in the great success.
I share EVERYTHING besides if I use a private address which I have done about twice in 28 years OR if an artisit responds to a facebook or tweet by sending me an address in a private message - they have sent it to me as a private message so they obviously do not want everyone to have it or it posted all over facebook/twitter so I keep those to myself as well UNLESS they make it very clear it is a manager/agent address with a business name.

Hope the OP heads over to the VV feedback section as many people post VV movie/tv show set successes that are still valid BUT refuse to post or even share via PM.

Maybe some people would be more prepared to share if others were BUT I do not believe at all in posting private addresses or ones mailed to me via twitter etc... and by telling you I had the success you just might do the reasearch & find the private address if you want the autograph badly enough or have been folowing that performer on twitter & they know you are a fan & give you some info too.

Thats my opinion anyway.

Thank god I have them blocked but I bet charger88 is having a field day in this thread LOL
You bet wrong you moron. Am I going to start getting collect calls from Austrailia soon?

Does anyone else have problems with this person? Sam Hall and I don't agree on this topic but we aren't blocking each other because of it. I don't dislike him. Man, she is annoying as hell.
I just put my opinion :)

Hey Samhall

I totally agree with your opinions & I like hearing others opinions as it's a forum. There are 2 users on this forum I decided to put the block key on not because of their opinions but because of the way the speak to people. I would not have anyone in real life call me a moron/genius/idiot etc... & I certainly won't take it in a forum. So I don't have to see comments like this & waste time on people like this I simply put them on block - that way I dont have to deal.

Because you quoted a certain person I find it hysterical he thinks I care enough about him or his opinions that I would call him?? Lol I have a life & nice people in it to call. Don't sit by your phone waiting!

When an address is private, it's just that. Just as I don't want my number on the do not call list, many of these celebs don't want their addresses out there for the general public.

I always respect that when I'm asked not to give an address out.

Personally, I find it very discouraging that the users on this board aren't willing to share addresses anymore. And I am not talking about private addresses. I can understand why people would want to keep them under wraps and I wouldn't feel comfortable using them anyway. I am talking about via venue addresses. I am not someone who asks for help with via venue addresses all the time, but the last 2 times I did ask for help, I didn't get it. Now I was lucky enough to find the via venue address for James Franco's latest movie by myself, but this general lack of helpful attitude amongst posters sadly makes me feel like I am pushed into taking on a similar self-serving mindset and that's a real shame because I am usually someone who likes to help other people out.

I see where you're coming from regarding the VV addresses. I'm new to the VV method so I really haven't experienced this first hand yet, but I've seen it played out a lot on this board. It seems excessive in many instances. I've seen some mean-spirited and combative responses to those asking for help. They could've just said no and left it at that or explained nicely. Some people act like this hobby is a competition. I think part of it is due to variations in age that work both ways. It's not always the younger ones or the elders as far as I can tell, but the excessive ones often seem to be to one extreme or the other.

I'm a bit late, but I personally don't think there's anything wrong with posting successes from personal addresses. I've emailed celebrities before, and they've given me their home addresses that I could send something to to get signed. I've also found many home addresses myself on the internet. Sometimes I've simply asked other users on this site for the address that they used, and many times they've happy to give it to me! It's just a matter of sharing it publicly.

By posting successes from personal addresses, I don't think it's bragging. In a way, it's showing that by sending to a celebrity's personal address, the celebrity will sign. All you have to do is find the address! Which usually isn't too difficult, since most of them can be found by simple searches. Besides, if you want an autograph enough, I think you should be able to search for it yourself, whether that's a simple Google search, an email to a celeb, or a PM to a user who has sent to that celebrity's home. {up}
