cavewv wrote:Yes I agree there but What about hobbies like bird spotting or collecting tin cars ? That could be a cheap hobby. There are lots of cheaper hobbies than collecting autographs. paying for a few packs of envelopes stamps and photos to be printed is not that expensive I agree.
My sister janet used to collect elephant models which she used to put together and then paint. That was quite cheap at the time but these days it can work out expensive dont you think so cavewv?
agree 100% I love collecting rock that's been a totally free hobby there are tons of cheap n free hobbies but collecting ttm autographs has been the best one IV found so far. Nothing better than opening the mail box and seeing one of your returned envelopes.
Yes I agree about the fact about the excitement of seeing one of the returned envelopes. It's quite exciting thinking who could of replied before you open it up. What I do is I save all my replies up without opening them until I have about 5 or 6. This could take 3 or 4 weeks and then I will sit down and break wind then have a nice cup of coffee and then open them all up. This way it gives me something too look forward too knowing I have a these succeses yet to open. [/quote]
that's great idea I'm gonna try that. I usually can't wait I'm in the car checking soon as I walk out of p.o. Lol. That's good that way you still have something to open on the slow weeks or months. Thanks
I can agree that compared to others it's a cheaper hobby. But it adds up! Haha. Especially when I was new to this and just sent out to whomever I liked without looking to see their track record of signing. I LOVE the thrill of opening that envelope. Recently I had a success from a person I sent off to in February! Those are always fun to.
4x6 would really make the hobby cheap, but I like 8x10's so I just add to the cost that way. It also depends on how many you send out. Like one weekend I mailed out 13 request (and have received back 8 so far!) and that took a lot of stamps and letter writing and time!

that was my problem when I started I was writing everyone and not checking to see who actually responds. Probably wasted alot of time and stamps but thanks to this site in getting the hang of it.
