Andy316 still being aggressive towards members

Maybe admin should PM him or talk to him, and tell him that he does contribute to the forum, but that people have a problem with his constant reporting people and aggression toward other members? It could make him see that he is actually upsetting people. I just saw a post of his from a few days ago when a new member asked a question which had already been answered (obviously being a new member they didn't know this), and Andy was very aggressive towards them:

My apologies for a lack of modesty but, I have been here longer than you. I personally believe that as long as we keep a watchful eye on Andy, he will be an asset to this place.

And my point was that I, as a moderator, refuse to babysit Andy anymore (and that's exactly what it's turned into). I didn't join the moderators to police problem members. I think it's a huge mistake to start with the assumption of valuing Andy over other members (literally). So when and if it comes down to Andy being in an argument with a moderator, who will be valued more then?

I just think it's unfortunate that for some members that because of his knowledge of autographs that Andy gets a pass to bully others. I will grant that sometimes he is set up, however, using some maturity and better judgment would tell him not to reply to those posts and yet he does anyway (after reporting it!?!?).

Look at whosurdaddy. Look at Rob. Andy is not the only one "getting a pass" here. We are pretty tolerant here. I can recall some other members getting banned, and they were far worse than Andy. (Aside from the spambots I mean.) I am aware that you are probably not going to change your mind about Andy but, I urge you to think of what would happen with Andy gone. We do not have the time or manpower to go around answering every single question. And if you don't mind me saying, most of the Junior Moderators are not that incredibly useful around the site.

Hmmm...I was under the impression that whosurdaddy and rob don't cause problems around here on a daily basis like Andy does . I haven't even seen a post from whosurdaddy in ages. And rob is fairly harmless (and if I remember correctly, couldn't be banned because of an IP issue).

If I imagine this site without Andy, I imagine other members taking over where he's left off with regards to the limited benefit he's provided to the site with the AP and Sec. lists and all of the negativity he's brought would be gone.

I'll agree about the JMs...however I've always said that I don't like the JM system.

All that being said, I'd still love to know what will happen when Andy picks a fight with a moderator....who's side will everyone take then??? And if Andy's membership here is valued over that of a moderator, why isn't he made a moderator then?

I'm with JC here. Not got much to say that hasn't already been said by him.

Totally agree with the JM's.. there are only a couple of ones that I think will make it to Mod posistion. In my honest opinion, I think the JM system should be scrapped completley and the good JM's should be made moderators. dganel (Sp/) for example would make a brilliant mod, as (in my opinion) so would Andy.

If he was a mod, I don't think we would be as blunt as he is.

I am pretty curious to see myself. The chances of Andy being made a moderator are slim to none. I'm almost certain that most of us here will be against it.

Well, in all honestly, I feel like I've been beating a dead horse on my point...and like I said...my whole reason for starting this topic was just to let everyone know that I won't be handling any disputes/reports with Andy involved because I don't agree with him being allowed to cause the problems that he has. So, with that, I'll bow out on the conversation unless I can productively add something else.

I would be against it yes. I was just suggesting that we should be fair. If members like Whosurdaddy and Rob aren't getting banned, then why should Andy. Whosurdaddy is almost a replica of Andy. We can't just get rid of Andy and keep him around.

Now, I have talked with him on a regular basis, and he is a great guy. I think that you all are making a bit too much of a big deal on him. I think that all that needs to be said is a PM to him about being blunt in his posts. I'll PM him and tell him. He seems to understand his wrongdoings, for lack of a better word, and he usually straightens up.

I just thought that I would point out something =/ You may have talked to him on a regular bais and know that he is a nice guy, but the members who he is offending and getting aggressive towards haven't. They only see his aggressive side because a lot of the tie that is the only side that he shows.

Also, isn't Andy already a mod? Or an Autograph Collector? So, doen't he have access to this forum?
