Re: rude or nice celebs
I base my experiences usually on multiple meetings. Anyone can have a 1 off bad day, or good day. So its hard to make an accurate assessment on that. I also NEVER gauge my opinion on meeting them at a charity function/signing because they are there as paid ambassadors & generally, even if they arent nice, will pretend to be. So they are terrible places to get an idea of a true celebs personality.
As much as I wanted to absolutely loathe the Twilight people when they were here, a few of them were pretty good. Most notable Jackson Rathbone, Peter Facinelli & Bryce Dallas Howard..all whom made my top 15 best encounters list. If it werent for the piss poor attitude of Kristen Stewart, it might have been one of the nicest casts I have met. Even Rob Pattinson was really good...when KStew wasnt with him.
other nicest ones- Robin Williams, Conan O'Brien, Stephen Colbert and Jennifer Love Hewitt.
other less pleasant ones- Tommy Lee Jones, Sean Penn, Evan Rachel Wood & Tom Welling
You can find my top & bottom 15 encounters, and honorable mentions here.

Reading your post, the only one on it I disagree with is James McAvoy; he signed everything and anything for people on the multiple times I saw him.canadagraphs1 wrote:I base my experiences usually on multiple meetings. Re: rude or nice celebs
Gerard Butler is the sweetest guy EVER. He signed for everyone, and when he accidentally missed my picture, I called him (as he started to walk away)...he saw that he had missed me, and came back to sign for me. He apologised, smiled, signed, then walked away. So nice!
Toby Kebbell was nice - signed for everyone.
Tom Hardy was a nice guy too - he signed for everyone and was willing to take time to talk to his fans.
Madonna - signed one autograph at random, then ignored all her fans to get to the press area.

Re: rude or nice celebs
Fortunately, I haven't had any bad experiences. The nicest ones I have met were Paris Hilton, Ashlee Simpson, John Lithgow, Joe Sestak, Ed Rendell, Joey Dee, Bernie Parent, Roscoe Orman, Peter Yarrow, Bernadette Peters, Robin Roberts (from GMA), Kristin Chenoweth, Bob Woodruff and his wife, and many others.

Re: rude or nice celebs
I've met probably 500 celebrities, wrestlers, athletes. Picking the nice will be hard since most have been extremely nice, but I'll list the ones that come to mind.
Nicest
Al Pacino - Despite being such a huge name with tons of fans around, he still posed for every photo he could, allowed female fans to give him hugs and seemed genuinely happy to meet his fans.,
Matt Damon - Such a cool guy. My friends and I saw him in NYC and asked for photos, his reply was "of course, do you have a camera". I said we did, he then gladly posed for the 3 photos and signed an autograph for each of us.
Will Ferrell - I hear lots of bad things but he was great when my friends and I asked for photos. He gladly posed, smiling with his arm on our backs.
Ryan Reynolds - Another name I heard bad things about but he was great. My friends and I saw him coming out of a show and asked if we could get photos with him. He replied of course and took them, while discussing his thoughts on the show.
Robin Williams - He was great. Happily posed for photos and signed our items, my friend had two, I had one. Great guy.
Worst
Jeff Daniels - I've met him probably 5 times and every time he is miserable. When asked politely for a photo with, he replies "no thank you".
Nathan Lane - He saw me and my friend and tried to run away from us.
Seann William Scott - Miserable guy when I met him. He was asked for an autograph and instead of saying no, he said "yes, just let me put my bag in the car first". Well you guessed it, he put the bag in the car along with himself and left.
Taylor Lautner - I didn't want him but others asked him for an autograph before the first movie came out and he turned them down.

Re: rude or nice celebs
Met Charlie Manuel, Phillies manager, today. Although he seemed a little out of it, he was very nice and signed whatever you put in front of him.

Re: rude or nice celebs
You know it's funny you mention Jeff Daniels. My graphing buddy was just talking about him a few weeks ago. He was trying to get him before the show and he freaking called the cops on him. Unbelievable! I have heard of celebs being mean but calling the cops
That is just plain rude.
