To post or not to post address on fanmail forum, that is the question!

I joined this past year and I have posted addresses if they were public in the feedback/via venue. The reason why I posted the address was to help others out. However, if the individual who had provided me with the address requests that I don't advertise the source of the information then I respect their wishes and not post it.

That said, I understand where you are coming from & after reading your comment vivalakayla I though to myself "holy ****, I posted the production office of GI Joe 2 in New Orleans in one of the other forums a couple days ago. I am in the process of writing to some of the actors in the film however, I dont want it come to a point where they will not accept fanmail." Seems like it is a damned if you do & damned if you dont.

If you're writing to actors on a set, and you spread that address around publicly, you can pretty much kiss your chances goodbye. THINK before posting. Do you know how many people join here just to lurk for addresses? Yes, the point is to share, but the catch 22 is that too much sharing destroys it for all of us. If you really want to share it with a couple of people you can trust, and you know REALLY want the address, then at least private message them.

Although I am not a total rookie to autograph collecting, I feel that I am always learning something. Thanks for your input vivalakayla & velvetgold. I would also say the spamming thing applies to websites too wouldnt u agree?
