Re: Wrestling Collectors?
Got back Shaul Guerrero today. Signed the pics I sent and also wrote a very nice note.
Re: Wrestling Collectors?
If you're not paying to attend the show then you have no business just staying at the hotel and bothering the legends.gdawg41180 wrote:does anyone know if you stay at the NWA Legends Reunion convention hotel. Do the talents sign anything for free if you run into them n the hotel say like in elevator or breakfeast or bar late night or what not? I went to the event in Charlotte last year and I know that they charge for autographs during the convention times but just wondering if u stay at hotel and then run into them.

it's a shot in the dark, but it might work and if you're staying in the hotel, you have the right to be there.

You don't have the right to harass folks. People have tried it before at Fanfest and it's ended quick. Just pay the $150 and get your autographs in an orderly manner like everyone else. 90% of the legends who attend Fanfest are elderly and don't need to be bothered while they're simply trying to get to their room.CubsFanKEC1982 wrote:actually, i have to take gdawg's side...JWLJN wrote:If you're not paying to attend the show then you have no business just staying at the hotel and bothering the legends.gdawg41180 wrote:does anyone know if you stay at the NWA Legends Reunion convention hotel. Re: Wrestling Collectors?
In all fairness to TNA and Foley on this matter, if one person gets to go behind the table then everybody wants to, and to get everyone through in a quick manner they can't take the time to let everyone walk to the front of the table to put the stuff they want signed down, walk around the table for their picture, walk back around and out of the way. A lot of signings are that way, and even at stuff like book signings at borders and even WWE Axxess is that way. A pic standing in front of the table is better than no pic at all. At least TNA is smart at Fan Interaction events and use the little round tables so there is nothing to walk around to get a picture beside the talent.CJBarnette wrote:On Sat. April 2, I met a bunch of wrestlers at a TNA show at Johnson City, TN! Foley wasn't friendly either. He didn't want to take a picture with my brother beside him, he made him take it in front of the table where he was.
GDawg said 'run into them' like it would be coincidence, when we all know he'll be in the lobby waiting for them with stuff in hand for them to sign. That's the one thing that I agree with the promoters at Legends of The Ring on. If they're in town for a convention and you will have the opportunity to meet all the talent (if you buy the VIP ticket) then the talent shouldn't (and in most cases dont) sign in the lobby of the hotel before.JWLJN wrote:You don't have the right to harass folks. Re: Wrestling Collectors?
Exactly. There have been a few who've tried it for Fanfest as well as LOTR and they're quickly found out about and dealt with. I'm protecting not only my friend, promoter Greg Price, but all of us paying fans as well. It's one thing if you've paid for your ticket to the weekend, you see Ole Anderson sitting in the lobby, and ask him to sign a photo. But if you're trying to mooch everything you have no business being there. This isn't free for the promoters. These wrestlers appear for a price just as the celebrities at the Hollywood collector shows do.roulette wrote: GDawg said 'run into them' like it would be coincidence, when we all know he'll be in the lobby waiting for them with stuff in hand for them to sign. And trust me, to answer the original question, if you think you're going to get everyone for free, especially the big names, you won't.

Re: Wrestling Collectors?
Foley was a jerk to me and my wife a few years ago at Wrestlerunion 2 in PA. He wouldn't let us take a picture behind the table when others were doing just that on both sides of us and then he let others do it later. He also gave attitude to my friend last year. He was in front of me and my friend said "It's good to see you again on TV" I guess he didn't hear the "on TV' part and said sarcastically "Do I know you? Am I supposed to know you? I meet people all the time you know?" Then he as aggravated that fans needed change. Keep in mind this was a show that he showed up at unscheduled for. If he didn't want to go, he shouldn't of went. I met him another 2x earlier in his career and he seemed much more fan friendly then.
On the ttm front, I received Brian Blair and Shaul Guerrero as well. Through address listed and FCW.

But if you're staying at the hotel and they are there too, it's a chance meeting.JWLJN wrote:

I seriously doubt that many autograph hunters "harass" the legends. If they say no, accept it and wait for the next guy.
It's not like they are flinging rocks at zoo wildlife.
One other suggestion might be to just kind of stay around the hotel where's happening and check out the eateries in the area. Never know who you might bump into at Cracker Barrel.
