Finding autographs at Thrift Shops...yes, it does happen!!

so guys I just got back from south la I went to a goodwill down the road from my aunt while I was down there so I was looking at the books and I saw they were 25 cents for paperbacks so I started looking I wasn't even looking for signed books really cuz it didn't even cross my mind till I found a Julianne MacLean "Prairie Bride" book and before I flipped it over to see if I would like to read it the lights hit a sticker on it and thats when I saw the sticker that says "Signed By Author" which then I wanted to make sure you know so I opened it up to the first page and there it was signed by Julianne with Best Wishes and a smiley face before her name (pics later) so I got it and alot of other non signed books so I got him and started taking them out of the bag and the first book I pulled out was Linda Fairsteins "Cold Hit" and I was just about to put it in a box (since I have way to many books lol) and I saw a sticker on it that said "Borders Autographed Copy" and kind of got all giddy so I opened it up and bingo there was Linda's auto (pics later) so I got 2 signed books while I was gone one knowing I was getting the other I didn't know I even had lol

Well, it's been awhile since I've been to any thrift stores, but I went this past Tuesday and Wednesday and found a few things:

Tuesday, I went to the local Disabled American Veterans(DAV)Thrift Store and found the following:


'Listen, Love'. Signed and Inscribed by the author, Patricia Goedicke. Patricia was a poet an author of several books. She died in 2006.


'Monimbo'. Signed and inscribed by one of the authors, Arnaud De Borchgrave. Arnaud was born the son of a Belgium count, but gave up his title of nobility in 1951. He is an American Journalist who specializes in international politics.


'Brave Enemies'. Signed by the author, Robert Morgan. Robert is an award-winning author of several books, including New York Times bestseller and Oprah's Book Club pick 'Gap Creek'.

On Wednesday, I hit a Goodwill and found this. Nothing big, but still..............


'The Goodnight Thing'. Signed by the artist, Lois Rosio Sprague. Lois has illustrated many children's books. Her art is AMAZING!!

I hit Thrift Shop GOLD yesterday, 12/3/10 !!!!
Only found one thing, but it's a doozy!!!!!


Went to my local Salvation Army store, which usually doesn't have anything, but I hit paydirt yesterday!
For only .99, I got Minnie Pearl's Autobiography. For those that don't know, Minnie Pearl was a country comedienne and actress, having been a fixture at The Grand Ole Opry and on the TV show, Hee Haw, for MANY years. She was inducted into the Country Music Hall Of Fame in 1975. She died in 1996. AWESOME find!! HOW W W DEEEEEE!!!!

Interesting find today!! Stopped by my local Salvation Army and headed right to the book section in hopes of finding some signed copies. I scoured the shelves and leafed through several ones, but nothing.

My mom was looking too & picked up a book by #20 1992 Detroit Lions HOF Lem Barney entitled ‘The Supernatural Lem Barney’ and wouldn’t you know it, it was signed!! He personalized it to some lady named Sandy, but added a nice lengthy inscription to it. Bought it for a whopping $2.00 and on the inside cover the original retail price was $34.95!!
