Re: What to write
What I do is that I usually praise some of their work, then add a bit about my autograph collection and my wish to have the photos that I have enclosed autographed by them.spangi wrote:What should i write when i request an autograph
Be real polite and nice; don't sound too exaggeratedly flattering though.

Re: What to write
I usually begin by introducing myself, then I tell them how long I've been a fan/what made me become a fan, then I talk about what they've starred in/wrote etc. that I like, then I will very politely request an autograph, and then I always end by wishing them good luck for the future.

Re: What to write
But how do you request an autograph politedly? I had a really hard time doing that when I wrote a fan mail letter 2 days ago. I eventually came up with something like "could I please have an autograph" or something like "it would be awesome to have an autograph". Not being English certainly works against me in this, I don't know what Americans say to sound as polite as possible. I just recently found out about avoiding the word "can", because someone said me you aren't being polite if you say that. It's really hard for me, because I also try to come over as less greedy as possible.
How do you guys request an autograph (I mean the question, specificly)?

If you have the time could you please sign my picture/send me a signed picture of yourself?
or
If it's not too much trouble, could you please sign my picture/send me a signed picture of yourself?
or
I am a big fan of collecting autographs, would it be possible for you to please sign my picture/send me a signed picture of yourself to add to my collection?
Something along those lines would be fine. As long as you say please, and don't make it sound like they have to do it, make sure they realise it's only if it suits them.

Re: What to write
Firstable I always write what's my name, how old I'm, where do I live etc. Next I write why I admire or like this person, and in the end, I write our favourite request.
And what do you think about length of letters, do u write long or short? I usually write quite long, cuz I think writin' medium length letters is more polite than writin' five sentences and supplication about autograph  Yep, It's more work, sometimes it's hard to write big letter in english for us, who're lernin' this language, but when I finish my letter I'm very proud of this
