Another IRC question :-)

Unread post by BossC »

I know that there have been several posts on this subject but I need a little more help. :D

I am in the US and wanted to send a SASE to be mailed back from CANADA.

I know that I need a IRC to prepay postage but Admin said that I need to send two (I think Admin posted that- when I went back to look for it I couldn't find it) for Canada. I have gotten other replies from Canada and they all took 1.60 Canadian to mail it to me (1.60 in Canadian currency is 1.33 US dollars). So I did my research and US $1.75 (the US price for a IRC) is equal to 2.09 in Canadian currency.

I admit that I can be cheap and I don't want to send too many IRC's but I also don't want to send to little. Could anybody clarify how many to send for a 9X12? (That is the size that I also received from Canada)

And one more question :D : when I send the IRC, so I put it to the outside on the SASE (like a stamp)? I think I read a post about sticking it inside the SASE but is that wise? Wouldn't the celebrity be more apt to miss that?

when sending to canada I always send 2. And always put the Ircs inside the sase. If you are afraid of the person missing them just put it in his or her letter.

IRC's in the USA cost $1.75, yes. However, they are only worth 80 cents worth of postage in the USA (the cost to send a regular letter by air to basically any country in the world). You cannot mail a large envelope from any country for one IRC, regardless of what country issued it or how much they paid for it (the cost varies by country, and "worth" varies depending on what currency you use as these also fluctuate).

If you want to cover the cost of postage for a large envlope to travel from Canada to the USA, you need to use two IRC's minimum (more if heavier than a few ounces).
