Another Idea

Unread post by Selise »

Just an idea because I am really frustrated and tired of people asking "how much in stamps do I need" to send to ______, when they don't take time to search the forum. Seriously, if people just looked and put in a little effort, they'd easily find their answers.

What if I made a post in Collecting Help that listed the major websites of different countries with postage prices for the different envelopes? It would give people a starting point for buying that countries stamps too.

And we could direct questions there.

Just an idea.

I'll make it up if you guys think it's a good idea - but someone will have to sticky it since I don't have that power.

It would help if it was updated, and if it was not locked so users can ask questions.

I wasn't thinking like that.. sorry I didn't make myself clearer. I meant:

Note: Stamps without denomination (printed value) can be used for international mail. The value of such stamps is linked to either a current or a former domestic postage price (e.g., the “Lady Liberty and U.S. Flag” stamp has a postage value of 39 cents). The postage value of the Forever Stamp, is always the domestic First-Class Mail single-piece 1-ounce letter price that is in effect on the day of use (affix more postage when neccesarry). It could have been the way I phrased things - no worries :) Sometimes when I'm tired my English suffers.

I'd be happy to add it so other people can use - and this way it wouldn't have to be updated by us when postal prices change - it's a direct link to the site from the country. Just a thought to cut down on our work.

Hey Selise

That would be a brilliant idea. It certainly would cut down our time, trying to calculate costs, and probably is easier for members to just click and search. Putting a sticky like that in the Autograph Discussion forum would be awesome.

I say again, brilliant idea!

Cheers

I think that should just be added to that already posted thread. Unless we just make a new one all together and delete the old one...
But good idea, Selise! :D

Fantastic idea, Selise! :mrgreen: Definitly worth of being a sticky in the "Collecting Help" forum! {thumb2} We can just delete the old one, as this on will be more helpful. :D It's great to know you haven't left this site, as then there wouldn't be much more left of modertors - thank you! {up}
