What is your greatest autograph success / dissappointment ?

Unread post by arrowsup »

I'll start, but I warn you this is ugly. As I kid I found an address for John Wayne....this was pre-internet, and I honestly don't know where it came from. Anyway, I wrote him a letter requesting a signed photograph, and being a kid I wasn't surprised that I got a response. I was probably mad that it took him two months or so to reply. He sent me a signed and personalized sepia toned photo from the movie "Hondo". I was in heaven!!..here is a link for a scan of that success:

For 35 years I have been the proud owner of a rare J-O-H-N-W-A-Y-N-E autograph. That is, until a friend talked me in to submitting it for authentication, because there are so many fakes and this will only increase its value when I want to pass it on to my grandkids. Here's the hard part-- James Spence sends it back with a letter saying that I have been living a lie for the past 35 years. It was a "Non-Mailicious secretarial" signed photo. My "friend" and I are still negotiating his status with me.

WOW!

See, I don't know what to think about this. JSA is very reputable but it really does look real to me.

Maybe look for another authetication company and try again just in case?

Lots of luck!

{thumb2} Ya! Ya Awsome....... I just recieved the final autograph in the book: "Voices of Latin Rock", Goerge & Carlos "Santana". Now it`s onto a BIG challenge....... A book just tittled "The Beattles", need Paul McCartney & Ringo Starr`s signatures, but how ? An old friend dieing of cancer should like to see the last physical survivors of the group (?). Douptful of this happenning, their signatures in the book would be the next best thing, this could be the dissapointment (?)

I would consider the following my greatest successes: Nickelback, Taylor Swift, Enrique Iglesias, Niels Brinck, Katy Perry and Britney Spears.
My biggest disappointments are the PP's I have received, and also not hearing back from some of my favourite celebrities such as Mariah Carey and Michelle Rodriguez who I wrote to several years ago, very disappointing!

Oh my gosh. Reading that John Wayne story made me want to cry.
I have nightmares where I find out my autographs are fakes or the celebs I ask for signatures really hate me because I'm bothering them. lol.

My biggest success is definitely my Rob Pattinson. I've never written to him because I assumed to was impossible (this was before I found this site :D) I pre-ordered a soundtrack for his film How To Be and won 1 of 250 autographed CD inserts. When that thing came in the mail I nearly passed out on the spot!
