Matte vs Glossy Photo Paper

Unread post by KatrinaLouise »

I'm just wondering which is better to send to people to be sent?

I've noticed that with the Matte paper that I use at home that it appears to be thinner than glossy paper which is evident in that the photo is visible through the back of the photo which I find tends not to happen if I use Glossy paper at home.

So when printing at home which do you prefer glossy or matte? and do you think it affects the auto?

Also if you are having them professionally printed do you use glossy or matte?

I usually get mine professionally printed.

Glossy used to be cheaper, but now it is matte. :) I haven't seen a difference in quality.

With Glossy paper, the ink from the sharpie marker doesn't soak in very quickly and there's always a chance that it will get smeared if the person your writing to sticks it back in the envelope before it has a chance to dry. With Matte finish, it's much quicker. I used to use glossy but have switched over to all Matte finishes when ever I send out requests. {up}
